I am constantly amazed at the new and exciting directions my life has taken me. We all played the MASH game at various ages in school: Where do you think you will be in five years? Ten years? Will you have the job you always wanted? The handsome husband? The big house? Thinking back, I cannot remember the answers I gave to those endless paper games… but I do know that I would never have guessed that I’d find my soul mate on the other side of the globe, and be living in the UK just a few short years later.
I met my British husband, Mark, in World of Warcraft. We met in person in 2006, just a few short months after getting to know one another online. We fell madly in love and married on a rainy day in October 2007 with a small ceremony among family and friends. Then I moved from Cincinnati, Ohio to Brighton, UK in January 2008 to be with him forever.
Mark, simply put, is the cheese to my macaroni… the Mulder to my Scully… the Chewbacca to my Han Solo. We are literally best friends as well as husband and wife. I never thought it possible for two people to have more love for each other than we did… and I was wrong. We topped ourselves, and our love again multiplied on November 3 2009, Mark’s birthday, when a positive pregnancy test told us we were expecting.
This blog is about us, our new family, our adventures and our experiences. It’s a place to store the treasures we find and to share them with loved ones. It’s about my useless rants and about me finding my way as an American living in the UK. 
It’s about being awesome.
Just the facts:
University: I currently attend university part time where I am majoring in Biology (quite possibly with a molecular biology focus). Eventually, I would like to apply the degree through teaching once I’ve achieved my masters.
American Expat: I’ve lived in the UK since January 17, 2008. On June 10th, 2010 I was awarded my Indefinite Leave to Remain status, allowing me to freely live and work in the UK henceforth.
Work: Unfortunately, nothing exciting. I work in an office.
Hobbies: I enjoy reading, blogging, photography, long drives in the countryside, and being exceptionally nerdy ^_^ I love to learn new things, debate with others, and occasionally play video games much too late into the evening.
Alter Ego: Navie. I am no longer active or involved in any gaming communities or with any gaming related websites.
