One thing that needs to be said about the magic of Christmas morning:  It was awesome as a kid, but it is mind blowingly awesome as a parent. I never thought that the childhood experience of presents appearing under the tree courtesy of a fat man in red pajamas could be rivaled, but watching Maddie’s face light up as she started to understand that there are cool toys hidden in those wrapped boxes, seeing the recognition flash across her face as she hugged her Bert and Ernie dolls made all the stress, planning, and late night wrapping sessions totally worth it.   She opened about half her prezzies and then we spent the majority of the day over at Simon’s house with family, more prezzies, and tons of delicious food.  

Hope everyone’s Christmas was just as merry and bright as ours, bring on the new year!
